Theory of Change

Our theory of change posits that creating a safe and nurturing environment for children and adolescents results from interactions between three sub-systems: family/community; deep social norms and power and policy. The change we seek will come about as a result of

  1. agency of individuals and the change in the relationships and patterns of interaction among children, adolescents and adults within families, the community, and local institutions like schools

  2. a shift in the social norms that legitimize and perpetuate violence

  3. an enabling policy and power environment which provides access to resources and opportunities.
